Breyer Secretariat on Plinth
Secretariat is likely to be the horse that everyone names as the most famous horse. His story is stuff of legends. He was the son of Bold Ruler out of Somethingroyal, lovingly known as Big Red, the large well constructed chestnut won the 1973 Triple Crown. In the first leg of the Triple Crown, he set a speed record of 1:59 2/5th to capture the roses. Next, he went on to easily capture the Preakness. Finally, Big Red captured the Belmont Stakes with an astonishing 31-length victory, a feat that has yet to be repeated. Wearing the colours of Meadow Stables, this horse was listed on two Athletes of the Century lists. This iconic horse is built on the Breyer Traditional 1:9 scale.
