Exselle Rolled Leather Lip Strap

The Exselle Rolled Leather Lip Strap is used on some types of curb bits and pelham bits. The lip strap is attached between the shanks and passes through the centre ring on the curb chain. It attaches to the rings at midpoint of the bit shank and buckles on the near side. The lip strap helps keep a mouthy horse from mouthing or lipping the shank. It also helps prevent the curb chain from unfastening or otherwise moving too much.
